I flew back to California on American, so I got to check out their new JFK terminal. The 2.2 million square-foot, $1.2 billion facility recently opened.  Posted by Picasa

From Maroon, Georgette (my sister) and I hopped in a cab to Grand Central Terminal, then took a Metro-North train to Connecticut. I spent the weekend there visiting family and friends, before flying back to L.A.  Posted by Picasa

We had a delicious Southern/Jamaican dinner at Maroon on W 16th St

the Red Velvet Cake was to die for (well, maybe not "die," but you know what I mean). ||

Flew back to the U.S. (via Dublin) out of Paris' alternate and remote Beauvais Airport which is is 80 km (50 miles) north/northwest of Paris in farm country. ||

I was off to the beautiful island named l'ile de R� (translated means the island of R�). I departed from Paris' Gare Montparnasse.

To get to l'ile de R� from Paris I took a TGV (Train � Grande Vitesse - translated into English means high speed train) to La Rochelle.

The train to La Rochelle took only two hours and forty nine minutes (2:49) as it traveled up to speeds of 186 mph.

La Rochelle looked beautiful but I was only there to jump on
