AA, BA, IB Unveil New Routes and AA's New London express service
For the first time ever, thanks to a new joint business, the schedules for American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia will be coordinated for travel across the North Atlantic.
The highlight is a new London express service with 15 non-overlapping flights a day, timed to give customers plenty of options for travel, beginning in the morning and especially in the high-traffic late afternoons and evenings.
Previously, JFK-Heathrow flights often operated by American and British Airways left at almost the same time. Now, those flights have been spread out to provide more departures at more desirable times throughout the day, effectively creating a “shuttle-like” frequency. The afternoon schedule features nine flights departing from JFK approximately every 20 minutes between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. There are many other schedule improvements resulting from the joint business, including more flights between Chicago and London, Miami to London and Boston to London.
