Airline offers discounted Skycouch upgrades from Los Angeles to Auckland and London

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (July 15, 2011) – Enjoy more room for less on Air New Zealand. Upgrade to the Skycouch for long haul travel this fall from Los Angeles to Auckland or London and save up to $200 off regular pricing.

Passengers traveling from Los Angeles to London can enjoy discounted Skycouch airfare for travel between September 1 – November 30, 2011. Travelers can upgrade to the Skycouch for an additional $75 for a party of three or $300 for a party of two.

Passengers traveling from Los Angeles to Auckland can take advantage of discounted Skycouch airfare for travel between August 1 – November 30, 2011. Travelers can upgrade to the Skycouch for an additional $100 for a party of three or $600 for a party of two.

Passengers must book their discounted airfare by July 31, 2011. Discounted rates on the Skycouch are available through all Air New Zealand sales channels.

The Skycouch is a trio of three economy seats that together create a flexible space for a number of uses – an area to relax and stretch out or for the kids to use as a play area. With the touch of a button, a footrest pulls up from under each of the three seats to create a flat, versatile space. Also dubbed “cuddle class,” Air New Zealand’s Skycouch option is available on the first 10 outboard rows of the economy cabin in its new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on flights operating between Auckland and London, via Los Angeles.

Onboard, passengers enjoy award-winning Kiwi wines, renowned cuisine, on-demand entertainment and even a fun in-flight safety video.
